Ben Duckett is a Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Planner, and Financial Planning Specialist at Morgan Stanley in the Beverly Hills, California office. Ben joined Morgan Stanley in 2012 to build the Morgan Stanley Wealth Advisor Associate role in the Beverly Hills Complex. This pilot program was then expanded across the firm and is now implemented in each Morgan Stanley Complex. Ben obtained his Certified Financial Planner designation in 2020 after completion of the required rigorous curriculum and a 6 hour exam. CFP ® certification is the standard of excellence for the financial planning profession. In addition to the CFP designation Ben has received the Five Star Wealth Manager Award for 2020 & 2021. Ben utilizes the vast resources of the firm to consult on Corporate Retirement Plan’s, as well as serve private wealth clients and their beneficiaries. Ben is committed to delivering consistent and transparent first-class service to each of his clients.

Driven by his interest in aviation, his responsibility to give back, and help those in need, Ben enlisted in the United States Air Force to become a Search and Rescue Helicopter Crew Chief with the 129th Rescue Unit. In August of 2011, he graduated with honors from Basic Military Training in the top 3% of his class. He went on to continue specialized training in Fort Eustis, Virginia. While in training Ben was selected to be the Airman Leader, tasked with leading his class through the Air Force training curriculum, graduating again with honors from The United States Army Aviation Logistics School. Ben served six years with the 129th Rescue Wing and completed his enlistment in 2016 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Ben still holds his private pilot license and HH-60 Helicopter Crew Chief certification. With Ben’s US Air Force background in mind, Ben believes that your Financial Plan acts as a “flight plan” and feels that any journey should begin with a detailed and accurate plan in place; only then can prudent investment strategies be implemented.

Ben earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at San Francisco State University, where he studied International Business and Finance, and furthered his studies at The American Business School in Paris, France.

Ben currently resides in Northridge with his wife Danielle. Having achieved her Master’s Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Danielle is a Master Piano Accompanist and Vocalist. Ben and Danielle welcomed their son Lincoln into the world in May of 2020. Ben, Danielle, and Lincoln can be found (socially distanced) spending time with friends and family and hiking with their dog, Bob.

You should understand the differences between a brokerage and advisory relationship. When providing you brokerage services, our legal obligations to you are governed by the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the rules of self-regulatory organizations such as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and state securities laws, where applicable. When providing you advisory services, our legal obligations to you are governed by the Investment Advisers Act, Federal statutes and regulations relating to retirement accounts, and applicable state securities laws. These latter advisory obligations govern our conduct and disclosure requirements, creating a legal standard which is referred to as a “fiduciary” duty to you. We also may have a fiduciary duty to you, with respect to brokerage retirement accounts.

Please reach out to your Institutional Consultant if you have questions about your rights and our obligations to you, including the extent of our obligations to disclose conflicts of interest and to act in your best interest. For additional answers to questions about the differences between our advisory and brokerage services, please consult with your Institutional Consultant or review our Understanding Your Brokerage and Investment Advisory Relationships brochure available at https://www.morganstanley.com/wealth-relationshipwithms/pdfs/understandingyourrelationship.pdf.
